“This painting is a prayer.

I became intrigued by this deep red, created through a mix of ultramarine blue, burnt umber and alizarin.

The depth of this colour, that holds so many hues. It feels rich and meaningful.

This colour demanded a mythic scene. Where women are more deity than human. And snakes become archetypes, shedding under the gaze of the sun.

It may be my favourite piece of this collection.

It is a prayer of love, grace and rebirth. A still scene to visit in times of confusion.
